Pool Rescue

During winter we jump in the pool for our Pool Rescue Programme, which involves learning various skills like tube rescue, object recovery, underwater swimming, and swimming with obstacles and fins.

The programme is open to all members from U11 to Masters provided they have completed their 200m Swim Badge, and our focus is primarily on having fun, and building confidence and skills.

In addition to weekly training sessions, athletes have four opportunities to put their skills to the test in a race environment, competing in both individual and team events. Three of the four competitions are held locally at Jellie Park Swimming Pool, and are also centred around fun and participation.

The fourth competition is Pool Rescue Nationals (held in Auckland each year) for any athletes wanting to test themselves in a more competitive environment.
