Our senior surf sports programme strives to deliver high performing athletes and fit lifeguards. We cater for all abilities from beginner to advanced athletes, and compete across all beach and surf events including surf canoe.
Requirements
To compete for South Brighton you'll need to:
- Be a refreshed lifeguard
- Complete 20 hours of patrol over the season
- Register with the club and pay your fees, including any board/ski allocation costs, before attending training
2025/26 Training Schedule
Squad training for the 2025/26 season will run from September 2025 - March 2026.
Our training squads include:
- Iron Squad
- Open Ski (members train with this squad at the coach's discretion)
IRON SQUAD
Experienced senior board paddlers, senior iron athletes and intermediate level ski paddlers.
Monday: Ski 6pm - 7.30pm
Tuesday: Board 6pm - 7.30pm
Wednesday: Morning Iron 6.30am - 7.45am / Afternoon Ski 5.30pm - 6.30pm
Thursday: Board 6pm - 7.30pm
Friday: Free Ride Friday and Race Starts 5pm
Saturday: Iron/Diamond (alll-in) 8am - 9.45am
Sunday: Beach/Conditioning 11am - 12pm
OPEN SKI
Ski sessions that specifically cater for top level ski paddlers/kayakers. Any of these athletes who also compete in ironman/board races will train with the Iron Squad for those disciplines.
Monday: 6pm - 7.30pm
Wednesday: 6pm - 7.30pm
Friday: Race Starts 5pm
Saturday: Iron/Diamond (all-in) 8am - 9.45am
Sunday: Beach/Conditioning 11am - 12pm
Competitive Costs
Coaching: $225 summer season
Ski allocation: $160 per season
Board allocation: $160 per season
