New Management Structure

Structure
1 Aug

Over the last few months, members of our committee have been working to find ways we can be more efficient and effective in how we manage the operations and leadership of the club. We want to break down the size of the tasks involved in running a surf club and get people involved at the level and time they have available.
We'd like our leadership to focus on strategy, governance, financial sustainability, health and safety and managing risk.
At our upcoming AGM we will be proposing a new structure and we'd like to share our thinking with you.
It starts with a draft vision and proposed new Management Team made up of 5 roles - with each having a responsibility to lead one of the function areas led by an overall Chairperson.

Grouping Functions together
While there is a lot of cross over, we want to group together the different functions within the club and bring together people interested in these areas to work together to help achieve our collective objectives.
This will result in working groups focused on their areas lead by an overall Management Team responsible for one function each.

Club Objectives (DRAFT)
Each group will work towards delivering our club objectives and have a purpose that helps them develop a plan each season to achieve what is a priority and manageable in a volunteer environment

What will each working group do?
We propose that we will have 7 working groups with overall responsibilities and tasks that will need plenty of people to put their hand up to get involved. People involved could be senior athletes, parents with an interest area or social members keen to do a bit more. We know there are skill sets within our club members that we haven't tapped into, so we are asking for your involvement.
